Protein detail:
Protein name | ORF3a Protein |
Uniprot protein ID | P59632 |
Protein length | 274 amino acids |
Protein description | The accessory protein orf3a of SARS-CoV is located between the spike and the E protein genes. The N-terminus of the protein is found at the extracellular side, while the C-terminus is located on the intracellular side. Also, it contains a cysteine-rich domain. The N-terminal domain of the orf3a protein contains three transmembrane domains. The orf3a plays a role in the viral envelope assembly, host cell binding and infusion since it interacts with the structural proteins (M, S, and E) and the accessory protein (7a) of SARS-CoV. |
